The Malolos City Federation of Senior Citizen Association of the Philippines, Inc. Is a group of old people who cooperate on their strengths and weaknesses by working even though they are having a hard time so they make this project to have great health services and condition support.
Establishing Purpose
MC-FSCAP was established to unite the voices and concerns of senior citizens in Malolos City and plays a significant role in addressing their needs by advocating for their rights and ensuring access to healthcare, social support, and community engagement opportunities. The organization regularly conducts events and programs such as health and wellness workshops, legal assistance seminars, recreational activities, and social gatherings to improve the quality of life for senior citizens.
MC-FSCAP's initiatives empower senior citizens and foster a sense of community and solidarity among them. Through events and programs, the organization provides a sense of belonging and support, cultivating a community spirit among its members.
Recognition of Organization's Effort
In recognition of the organization's efforts, the Malolos City Government provides financial assistance worth P50,000 for FSCAP projects every month. The government, led by Mayor Kon. Niño Bautista is committed to supporting senior citizens, especially during the pandemic, and is actively exploring ways to expedite the vaccination process for vulnerable elderly citizens.
Moreover, Republic Act No. 9994, also known as the Expanded Senior Citizen Act of 2010,. The Office of the Senior Citizen (OSCA) has a 3-year program that can help them in their lives to practice.
Government Support
The city's senior citizens need continuing support, especially during the pandemic. The government is committed to exploring ways to expedite the vaccination process for vulnerable elderly citizens. The event was attended by FSCAP officers, led by their president. Lodina Tanwangco and OSCA Chairman Angelito Santiago, City Chief Bebong Gatchalian, Acting City Administrator Lito Zuñiga, and Kon. Niño Bautista distributed financial assistance to 55 senior citizen association presidents in celebration of Senior Citizens Month. The Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines-Malolos Chapter held its General Assembly, providing financial assistance and grocery packs to indigent senior citizens from 51 barangays.
During an event at the OSCA Building, shared plans for upcoming projects, particularly focusing on meeting the medical needs of senior citizens. The program, led by OSCA and the City Government of Malolos, aims to provide medical assistance to senior citizens in their homes, eliminating the need for them to go to City Hall. The Supervising Administrative Officer - Management Audit, Ma. Teresa G. Valenzuela oversees the program.
In conclusion, MC-FSCAP stands as a crucial organization in creating a supportive community for elderly members in Malolos City, and its collaborative efforts with the local government contribute significantly to the well-being and inclusivity of the aging population.
